Bernardsville releases Street Smart pedestrian safety campaign report

street_smart_bernardsvilleThe Borough of Bernardsville announces the conclusion of the Street Smart pedestrian safety campaign conducted by the Bernardsville Police with assistance from RideWise, Bernardsville schools, and the downtown business community.

The Borough is the fourth municipality in Somerset County to conduct a comprehensive Street Smart campaign. Pedestrian and driver behavior in downtown Bernardsville improved during the campaign, with 100 percent of drivers stopping for pedestrians in the crosswalk on Mine Brook Road by the Bernardsville Print Center. Survey responses indicated that the campaign was highly visible throughout the community. Borough officials and police have begun planning a second Street Smart campaign to take place in 2019 with assistance from RideWise.

You can read the final report and learn more about the Street Smart Bernardsville campaign here. The report is also available at the Borough’s website – http://www.bernardsvilleboro.org/.
