RideWise is giving adults in need of reliable transportation a new ride through our program, BikeConnect. This partnership between RideWise and Pops Bike Shop in Somerville is a bicycle rehabilitation program that repairs donated bicycles and gives them to adults who need reliable transportation for employment.
How does BikeConnect work?
Bicycles that are donated to RideWise are first sent to Pops Bike Shop for repairs. The repaired bicycles are then donated to adults referred to RideWise by nonprofit organizations in Somerset County. In addition to getting a bicycle, the team at Pops outfits each bicycle with a bell and lights to comply with New Jersey biking laws, along with a helmet and bicycle lock. Bike recipients also receive instruction in cycling safety from RideWise as part of the donation.
I would like to donate a bicycle. How do I do that?
