9/7/22: First Responder Electric Vehicle Safety Awareness

This presentation by Mike Hornsby, Firefighter with the Princeton Junction Volunteer Fire Co. and EV advocate, prepared firefighters with information to safely respond to incidents involving EVs. Over 50 Fire Fighters and First Responders from Somerset County and beyond attended the program at the Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy.

Many thanks to Stan Jaracz and New Jersey Electric Vehicle Association volunteers, instructor Mike Hornsby, Derek Reedman, Susie Dudek and the staff of the Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy, and many Fire Chiefs and others for promoting the first electric vehicle safety program for First Responders in Somerset County.

Note: First Responder EV training is a requirement of Sustainable Jersey’s Make Your Town Electric Vehicle Friendly action.  RideWise can help municipalities earn Sustainable Jersey certification through many actions under Energy, Land Use & Transportation, Community Partnership & Outreach, and Health & Wellness.
