Regional Bus Services

SINCE 2020, THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL SCHEDULE CHANGES TO MOST PUBLIC TRANSIT. FOR THE MOST ACCURATE  AND UP-TO-DATE SCHEDULE INFORMATION, PLEASE VISIT THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF EACH TRANSIT SERVICE.


Three private bus carriers provide regional service between Somerset County and New York City. Click the appropriate link for route and fare information.

Lakeland Bus

NOTE: Limited service on Rt. 78 will resume Monday, 5/3/21. As of 11/5/21, Lakeland Bus added new stops at the Warren Park & Ride, by Warren Corporate Center:

  • Eastbound: 6:35 AM
  • Westbound: 6:15 PM and 6:45 PM

Lakeland Bus Lines operates from the northern part of Somerset County (Basking Ridge, Bernardsville, Lyons, Bedminster and Far Hills) to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC.

Rt. 78 Schedule

Suburban Transit

Suburban Transit provides service through two lines, one from Princeton and one from Hillsborough, to New York City.

On February 24, 2020, Suburban Transit introduced the “Track Coach USA” app, which allows passengers to track the bus and determine the arrival time of the next scheduled bus. To learn more, please click here.

Suburban Transit 200 Line Schedule (Hillsborough) – WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11. More information on the return of the 200 line here.

 

Trans-Bridge

Trans-Bridge provides service to the Port Authority Bus Terminal from the Branchburg park and ride. Trans-Bridge also offers reverse commute bus service to Bridgewater and MetLife on Route 22 in Bridgewater from the Port Authority Bus Terminal  in New York City.

PLEASE NOTE: The Bagel Garden in Branchburg will no longer sell Trans-Bridge Lines bus tickets. Please make purchases online or at any other Authorized Ticket Agent locations.

Trans-Bridge Lines will soon begin operating as a RESERVATION-BASED system. This means your seat will be confirmed for the travel date and time you select. Create an account to reserve your seats.
