Carpooling

If you work or go to school in Somerset County, RideWise can help you find a carpool for your commute. A carpool is an informal arrangement between two or more people who live or work in the same area with similar schedules. Driving and the cost associated with driving are mutually agreed upon by the individuals in the carpool.

You can start your search for a carpool partner by going to NJRideshare.com, where you can self-register and search for other individuals looking to share a ride. Register, put in your starting and ending locations, and your work schedule. Then contact the matches provided. If successful, you can form a rideshare with other commuters.

If you don’t initially find a carpool partner, enable the new Match Alert feature. NJ Rideshare will periodically check for new and updated profiles that match your criteria. If a match is found, you will be automatically notified. To enable this feature, click on the “registration” tab and then “reminders & alerts.”
