Sustainable Jersey recently released a new action for municipalities related to electric vehicles – Electric Vehicle Community Outreach – and held a webinar featuring RideWise’s Director of Business Development, Leanne McGowan.
The webinar, titled “Accelerating the Electric Vehicle Transition with Outreach in Your Community,” highlighted best practices for sharing information about EVs with a variety of community members, from multi-family property managers to local businesses looking to add public or workplace EV charging. School, municipal, and local business fleet managers as well as local car dealers can be particularly effective partners in outreach campaigns. An overview of programs that can used by community members to encourage EV adoption, such as NJCEP EV incentives, were also included in the presentation.
Leanne’s engaging presentation featured RideWise’s monthly EV Coalition programming, which brings together stakeholders from across the county and state to discuss priority areas and next steps for accelerating electric vehicle adoption. Leanne also discussed the role of Transportation Management Associations like RideWise in facilitating EV community outreach, creating partnerships to reach EV readiness goals, and examples of how Somerset County was reaching its EV readiness goals.
