Last month was Bike Month, filled with lots of great activities throughout Somerset County schools.
The Bridgewater-Raritan School District kicked it off at Hamilton Primary School and JFK Primary School by having safety presentations for more than 400 students. JFK continued their Bike Train throughout the month, and on National Bike Day, their Parent Teacher Organization brought in a BMX presentation and raffled off 2 bikes for students to win.
The Greater Somerset Hills YMCA in Franklin hosted bike and pedestrian safety this month at their “Y without Walls” aftercare programs in Claremont, Franklin Park, Connely, Macafee and Hillcrest schools. 80 students learned about bike and pedestrian safety tips.

Stony Brook School in North Plainfield hosted RideWise for the second time this year for bicycle safety at the end of May. Caty Whalen, bicycle and pedestrian safety manager, gave an on-bike demonstration to 200 students for safety tips and tricks on how to ride safely.
Thank you to all our school partners for celebrating Bike Month with us! These programs are available all year long. To schedule bike and pedestrian safety classes with your school, afterschool program, or summer camp, contact Caty Whalen at caty@ridewise.org.
