Does your school or municipality have issues with speeding drivers? RideWise can conduct free speed studies for schools and municipalities using our new speed sentry.
The speed sentry is a portable device that attaches to most speed limit signs. As cars pass, the sign flashes and displays the speed of each car. At the same time, the sentry collects data on vehicle speed and traffic volumes by the day of the week and time of day, which RideWise will compile into a report for the borrower. The data gathered from these studies are especially valuable when applying for grants, working on pedestrian infrastructure improvements, and determining where and what time of the day to increase police enforcement.
The speed sentry is available on a 30-day loan from RideWise at no charge. Communities and schools interested in using the speed sentry must show proof of insurance covering the equipment and naming RideWise as an additional insured.
