Sarah Chelli is RideWise’s Senior Community Engagement Specialist. Sarah is bilingual and works to make our educational material accessible in both English and Spanish. She is responsible for managing programs that advance community health, safety, equitable access to safety resources, and improving outcomes for Somerset County residents, including older adults, youth in Middle School and High School, people with disabilities, and underserved populations including minority, low-income, ALICE, and over-burdened communities.
Some of her specific responsibilities include managing community-based health and safety programming for middle and high schools on pedestrian safety, driver safety, active transportation, environmental health, creating and delivering transportation education workshops and drop-in hours to diverse audiences including senior centers and health centers.
She is also a member of several advocacy groups, promoting and educating the community about safe and sustainable transportation options.
Sarah is passionate about addressing the social determinants of health and looks for opportunities to connect RideWise with various organizations in the community like schools, health centers, food banks, and human services. In her free time, Sarah can be found reading, traveling, learning how to crochet, and trying out new restaurants, especially in downtown Somerville.
