Is your municipality planning or in the process of installing electric vehicle (EV) public chargers, electrifying your fleet, and building your EV infrastructure? RideWise, Sustainable Jersey, and the Somerset County Planning Division have partnered to help your community get ready for EVs through our EV Readiness Survey.
This short survey will help us assess the level and type of planning assistance needed to address EV adoption at the municipal level. Local governments can take a lead role in promoting the adoption of EVs and public charging infrastructure through building and parking ordinances, streamlined permitting, utility partnerships, public access initiatives and community outreach and education.
To further assist municipalities in Somerset County reach their EV goals, RideWise is working with our partners through our monthly, virtual Let’s Go Electric coalition meetings and EV Municipal Meet and Greets. In addition, Sustainable Jersey has resources available to help municipalities move forward on these initiatives: Make Your Town EV Friendly action, Public EV Charging Infrastructure action, and Purchase Alternative Fuel Vehicle action. The Sustainable Jersey Alternative Fuel Vehicle Procurement Guide includes additional information for municipalities considering adoption of EVs on their fleets.
