VIDEO: How to Build a Parklet

Are you interested in building a parklet? Watch Jon Dugan, RideWise’s Pedestrian & Bicycle Safety Manager, show you how easy it is to build one.

In the past year, parklets have become both a local and national movement. A parklet is a temporary pop-up park which can lead to long-term changes in your community. Parklets can serve multiple purposes; they can be a place to rest and relax while on a walk or with a coffee, attract visitors and shoppers, act as an outdoor classroom, or even be used as a breakroom or meeting place.

This movement is bringing about a fundamental shift in how people and communities think about public spaces. These types of projects can inspire action from the community, draw attention to the importance of public space, and create equitable spaces for everyone by encouraging team work and a sense of belonging.
