Weston Elementary School in Manville got their first Walking School Buses rolling on December 2nd. Students and parents traveled to school along 3 of the 4 routes mapped for Manville by RideWise. A working group comprised of RideWise staff, PTA members, Manville police and parent volunteers who served as ‘bus drivers’, organized and kicked off the event in less than one month. The streets around the school experience a very high volume of traffic. The Walking School Buses took roughly 15 cars off the road and highlighted the benefits of walkable and bikeable communities to students and parents.
