RideWise completed two Street Smart campaigns this year, in North Plainfield and Bernardsville. North Plainfield’s campaign took place in the spring and focused on crosswalk safety in front of West End Elementary School, while Bernardsville’s campaign took place in the fall and focused on an intersection known as Five Corners (Claremont Road, Mine Mt Road, and Seney Drive.). In Bernardsville, the business community, St. Bernards Church and the food pantry at King of Kings Church helped spread the Street Smart message through printed materials. In North Plainfield, RideWise partnered with West End Elementary School to provide Safe Routes to School programming, teaching both students and parents about the importance of pedestrian safety. Both campaigns improved pedestrian safety conditions in their respective communities.
Thank you to both of these communities and their police departments, as well as West End Elementary School in North Plainfield, for your help in running these campaigns! You can read the campaign reports on our website.
